L’intervento site-specific, curato dalla @lacollinadiloredana e ideato dal collettivo
artistico *Sbagliato* per il frangiflutti del porto di Scauri a Pantelleria, vuole
essere un invito all’osservatore a guardare oltre, superando l’abitudine di
accettare la realtà per come appare superficialmente.
L’idea nasce tra marzo e aprile, durante un sopralluogo sull’isola. Dopo lunghe
passeggiate tra i paesaggi incantati di Pantelleria, l’attenzione del gruppo viene
catturata dalla scritta presente sull’ex albergo di Gheddafi: “Non è tutto come
sembra”. Da quel momento, il progetto comincia a germogliare nella mente degli
artisti. La tappa successiva, al Porto di Scauri diventa il punto di svolta: è lì che
prende forma l’immaginazione dell’intervento, volto a alleggerire visivamente la
presenza massiccia e fondamentale del frangiflutti.
Si genera così l’idea di installare undici oblò del diametro di due metri ciascuno,
contenenti immagini che aprono a un “altro orizzonte”: porzioni di mare e scenari
che collegano il mare pantesco a un altrove, a un’altra costa, a un altro orizzonte.
Un omaggio al territorio caro agli artisti, quello di Roma Fiumicino, e un tentativo
di connettere idealmente due luoghi distanti, ma vicini nel cuore e nella mente.
L’intento è quello di aprire portali immaginari, di tessere relazioni tra Pantelleria e
l’esterno. Tra L’Isola e un altrove indefinito, capace di suscitare nell’animo
connessioni e riconnessioni quasi magiche — che portano lontano, ma al tempo
stesso riportano vicino.
Le undici immagini sono stampate su dischi di alluminio, un materiale che
sostituisce la consueta carta utilizzata da Sbagliato, rendendo l’installazione più
resistente al vento e al mare di Pantelleria. L’opera, concepita come semi-
permanente, sarà visibile e fruibile fino alla fine del mese di ottobre.

The site-specific installation, curated by La Collina di Loredana and conceived by the artistic collective Sbagliato for the breakwater of the port of Scauri in Pantelleria, is intended as an invitation to the observer to look beyond, overcoming the habit of accepting reality as it superficially appears.
The idea was born between March and April, during a location scouting on the island. After long walks through the enchanted landscapes of Pantelleria, the group's attention was caught by the writing on Gaddafi's former hotel: "Nothing is as it seems." From that moment, the project began to take root in the artists' minds. The next stop, at the Port of Scauri, became the turning point: it was there that the vision of the installation took shape, aimed at visually lightening the massive yet essential presence of the breakwater.
This gave rise to the idea of installing eleven portholes, each two metres in diameter, containing images that open onto "another horizon": portions of sea and landscapes connecting the waters of Pantelleria to an elsewhere, to another coast, to another horizon. A tribute to the territory dear to the artists — that of Rome and Fiumicino — and an attempt to ideally connect two distant places, yet close in heart and mind.
The intent is to open imaginary portals, to weave connections between Pantelleria and the outside world. Between the Island and an undefined elsewhere, capable of stirring in the soul almost magical connections and reconnections — that carry you far away, yet at the same time bring you back close.
The eleven images are printed on aluminium discs, a material that replaces the paper typically used by Sbagliato, making the installation more resistant to the wind and sea of Pantelleria. The work, conceived as semi-permanent, will be on view and accessible until the end of October.
